Who am I?
I'm a fourth year medical student, this is my first blog and I CAN'T WAIT TO QUALIFY. I hope to take you through my highs and lows of medical training. I love what I do (though I may not think this every day), I have had some wonderful experiences along the way and truly honoured to have such wonderful friends to share them with.

Why do I want to blog?
People are fascinated by medicine and have been for centuries (think back to that old fella' called Hippocrates). Consider how many television programmes, books and newspaper columns are dedicated to medicine: One Born Every Minute, The Real A&E, Casualty, Holby City, Grays Anatomy, House, ER, Embarrassing Bodies, The Food Hospital and Trust Me, I'm a Junior Doctor to name just a few. It's really struck me recently that whilst the consultants, junior doctors, nurses and midwives have had their say, what about medical students? A friend, and recently qualified teacher, recently asked me to tell her about what life as a medical student is really like in order to explain to some of her students what they would be really letting themselves in for. I got thinking and when I saw the advert for featured blogger at almostadoctor.com I jumped at the chance. Whilst names, dates and situations have been altered in order to ensure absolute anonymity, this is the honest account of my life as a medical student.

It's quiet in here! Why not leave a response? Please give a source if relevant.
