When you get into clinical years we've found that the most useful books you can have on you are the two oxford handbooks! (clinical medicine and the specialties handbook). They are small enough to cram into a pocket, detailed enough so you can sound like you know what your talking about and have lots of pretty pictures too! If you go to their website they also hold monthly competitions for handbooks, and have lots of other interesting things for you to check out! Click on the banner to have a look!
On a slightly more serious note I have had mine for two years, it's lost its cover its been used so much, and i still use it all the time for revision and quick reference. Its definately one of the best buys i've made at medical school, and highly encourage you all to click on the banner at the top of the page and get it if you havent got one already!
For those of you with fancy Apple gadgets they also have their handbook in App format for even more convenience! It is a bit pricey for an App, but when you think of it as a highly portable book its not too bad. Check it out at the App Store.
