We want almostadoctor to be more than just free notes. We want it to be a place you come to hear funny stories about what other students have been up to, to get the latest info on the events happening in your area, and just maybe to read up on a topic for uni.
We are looking for students and junior doctors to write regular blogs about their antics. It would be great on your CV, can help you let off steam, and best of all, we’ll give you a free textbook!
If you want to get started, you’ll need to sign up to almostadoctor. We won’t even send you any spam! 1 Once you’ve done that, head over to your profile, and go to ‘write your blog’ to get started!
Once you’ve written your blog, it will appear on our blogs page, and you can eagerly tell all your friends to have a read.
Get a free textbook!
Over here at almostadoctor HQ² we have literally hundreds of textbooks,3 revision books and other medical goodies kindly donated by our sponsors, just waiting to be given to knowledge hungry students!
So, if you write at least two blog posts for us before the end of February 2012, and we like them (by promoting them to the frontpage of almostadoctor.com), then we’ll send you a free textbook! Easy.
I want a free book4, but it sounds like effort, and I don’t know what to write about!
Ahh come on now, clean those stains off your keyboard, find out if you really did install Microsoft Office (or equivalent) and just tickle off a little something about your hilarious first day on urology. Or about those great revision classes you went to. Or moan about your medical school, or perhaps formulate your plans for world domination. How about that time you were on the bus and you saw some who looked a bit ill. As long as you can make it (just slightly) relevant to medical students, you’ll end up with a free textbook.
Do be at least a little bit careful. Don’t go posting any identifying or incriminating details. And, that probably includes your own. In fact we’d encourage you to choose a username that doesn’t identify you as you. Or as anybody else for that matter. But otherwise we’re pretty chilled out. Oh also, I'm afraid this fantastic offer is only available to students in mainland UK.
You’ll even get your own URL at almostadoctor.co.uk/blogs/[username_here]
What more can I say?!
Any questions, just ask in the comments below....
